These were so easy and fun to make with my 3 year old! She wanted a fun nightlight for her bedroom and these were perfect. We started by hot gluing a clear string and some small & large cotton balls onto battery operated tea lights.

Be mindful not to glue a cotton ball over the switch to turn it on – that needs to be exposed. Once you have glued enough balls to make your cloud shape, you can start hanging the clouds in different lengths on a stick. I chose to have one smaller cloud without a light.

Once you have your clouds hung, turn on the lights and hang them anywhere you’d like.

The flickering tea lights look like lightening inside the cloud.
