I got this recipe from my mom – we made playdough sensory jars and my kids LOVED playing with them. Here are my Amazon affiliate links for the items used: fake rainbow sprinkles, resin candy pieces and airtight jars to store them in.
I use vanilla extract in mine to give it a nice smell, but totally optional! Sometimes I use a little almond extract instead of the vanilla and yummmm!

Here is the recipe:

1 cup water
1 Tablespoon oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
coloring of your choice
Bring to a boil

In a separate bowl, combine
1/3 cup of salt
1 cup flour
2 Tablespoons cream of tarter – mix well!

mix the powders into your pot of boiling water and oil, and stir over medium heat until globby. Once it’s cool, you can knead the dough.

It will look really gritty and bumpy but that’s normal.
I mixed the fake sprinkles into the dough and then put the dough balls into jars. I put the resin pieces in a separate baggy.
Make sure you store the dough in an airtight container after use to preserve it. Mine will usually last about 3-4 weeks.
